The trail is approximately 4 miles long and winds through forests, wetlands, and meadows. The trail is a great way to see the natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay area.
6. Brownie’s Beach: A popular fossil-hunting beach, known for its Miocene-era fossil deposits. It’s a great spot for fossil enthusiasts and beachgoers alike. The beach is located south of Chesapeake Beach and is accessible by car. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes as the terrain can be uneven. The best time to find fossils is after a storm when the waves have churned up the sand and exposed new finds. Some of the fossils that can be found at Brownie’s Beach include shark teeth, whale bones, and petrified wood.
7. Veterans Memorial Park: Pay tribute to veterans at this park, which features a memorial wall and beautiful landscaping. The park is a great place to reflect on the sacrifices of those who have served our country. Veterans Memorial Park is located in Chesapeake Beach and is open to the public year-round.
8. Chesapeake Beach Fishing Charter: If you enjoy fishing, consider booking a charter to explore the Chesapeake Bay and catch various species. The Chesapeake Bay is home to a wide variety of fish, including rockfish, striped bass, and flounder. Fishing charters typically provide all of the equipment you need, so you can just relax and enjoy the day.
