Did you knowThe SL 55 is the first SL built entirely by AMG — a fabric-roof 2+2 roadster with all-wheel drive, so it’s a top-down cruiser you can actually drive year-round in the DMV.
About Capital Exotics and the Mercedes-AMG SL 55
Capital Exotics brings the Mercedes-AMG SL 55 to Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia as the fleet’s open-top grand tourer. Drop the fabric roof in about 15 seconds and you have an AMG roadster with real back seats — the right car for a Rock Creek Parkway cruise, a Middleburg wine day, or an anniversary drive out to Skyline Drive.

Under the hood is AMG’s hand-built 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8: 469 horsepower, all-wheel drive, and a 0–60 run of roughly 3.8 seconds. Inside you get the MBUX tilt-adjusting touchscreen, Nappa leather, AIRSCARF neck heating for cool evenings, and Burmester sound.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Mercedes-AMG SL 55 a hardtop or a soft-top?
Soft-top. The current-generation SL returned to a fabric roof that opens or closes in about 15 seconds at speeds up to 37 mph, so you can make the call at a stoplight.
How many people fit in the SL 55?
It’s a 2+2 — two full front seats and two small rear seats best suited to kids or bags. For four adults, look at the Maybach or G63 instead.
Can I rent the SL 55 if I’m under 25?
Yes. Renters 21 and over may rent cars under $900/day, and the SL 55 qualifies. You’ll need a valid license and full-coverage insurance — we verify it with your insurer for you.
What is the security deposit on the SL 55?
Deposits run $250–$1,500 depending on the car and are fully refundable. Your exact deposit is confirmed in your texted quote before you commit to anything.
Is there a discount for longer rentals?
Yes — rentals of 3 or more days get a lower daily rate, shown on this page. Weekly rates are quoted on request.

We rented an exotic car for our wedding exit, and it was such a memorable addition to our day! The car was absolutely beautiful and made our exit feel even more special. Our chauffeur was amazing—professional, friendly, patient, and made sure everything went smoothly. He helped us feel completely comfortable and made the experience so much fun. We are so happy we chose to include this and would absolutely recommend them for any wedding or special event!
